A one-day, HSE-compliant course that gives your workplace a qualified emergency first aider with a 3-year certificate, at our Pendlebury venue or on your site across Greater Manchester.
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) training in Manchester gives your workplace a qualified emergency first aider in a single day. It is a practical, hands-on course run by an experienced instructor, and it suits complete beginners as well as anyone renewing an expired certificate.
The role and responsibilities of the first aider, assessing an incident and managing an unresponsive casualty. Delegates then practise CPR and the use of an AED (defibrillator), together with choking, shock, seizures, wounds and bleeding, and minor injuries. Assessment is by continuous practical observation with a short theory element, not a formal written exam.
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require every employer to provide adequate first aid people, equipment and facilities. EFAW generally suits lower-hazard workplaces such as offices, shops and warehouses. Successful delegates receive the FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF), NUCO accredited and valid for three years.
The course runs from 8am to 4pm at our Pendlebury training centre near Junction 17 of the M60, with on-site parking, or at your premises anywhere in Greater Manchester for groups of four or more.
