PASMA Work at Height Essentials in Manchester is the foundation course for anyone who works at height, whether that's on a set of steps, a podium, a tower or a roof edge. It is not tied to one type of equipment. It teaches the thinking that should come before any of them.
What the Work at Height Regulations 2005 require, and what counts as working at height. Why falls happen. The hierarchy of control: avoid the work at height if you can, prevent falls if you can't, and minimise the consequences if a fall is still possible. It suits new starters and apprentices, facilities and caretaking staff, and whole teams that need a common baseline. Employers across Greater Manchester use it for inductions before moving people on to equipment-specific courses.

Work at Height Essentials is a half-day, theory-only course, so there is no practical assessment. It runs Monday to Saturday at our training centre at Agecroft, Pendlebury, a short drive from Junction 17 of the M60.
Because it is classroom-based, the course is easy to run at your own premises for four or more delegates, anywhere in Greater Manchester. It gives new starters and mixed teams the same grounding in one session, before anyone moves on to equipment courses.
Delegates are certified the same day they complete the course, with a PASMA qualification valid for five years.
