IPAF PAV training in Manchester for push-around vertical platforms, at our Pendlebury training centre or on site at your store, warehouse or office.
IPAF PAV training in Manchester covers push-around verticals: small, manually moved platforms that raise a single operative a few metres for low-level work. You'll find them in the Arndale's stores, in retail parks and supermarkets, in warehouses and distribution centres, and in offices, schools and hospitals across Greater Manchester, replacing steps on jobs where they aren't safe enough.
Because PAVs look simple, people often use them without training, and that is where incidents come from. Typical causes are pushing the machine over an uneven floor or a dropped kerb, overreaching from the platform, and exceeding the platform's load. The course covers inspection, moving and positioning, safe working on the platform, and what to do if the machine won't come down.
A PAV is still a MEWP, and IPAF training gives employers clear evidence that operators are competent. For retail, facilities and warehouse teams it is a short, practical course that removes an easy target for an auditor.
If your team also uses powered scissor lifts, add IPAF 3a.
Most PAV training is for teams, so we often deliver it at your own store, warehouse or office anywhere in Greater Manchester, for four or more delegates. Individuals and smaller groups can train at our centre at Agecroft, Pendlebury, a short drive from Junction 17 of the M60.
Pass the practical assessment and PAV is issued on your PAL card the same day as an ePAL, valid for five years. Courses run Monday to Saturday, so you can pick the quietest day for your team.
