A cantilever tower balances low-level support on one side against the extended platform on the other. On the side where the platform overhangs, strong braces run between the platform, the scaffold and the ground, which is what makes the arrangement rigid rather than merely propped. The cantilever section itself comes in 720mm and 1350mm widths, added to a single width (0.72m) or double width (1.35m) base with platform heights to 12.1m.
Ballast and tie requirements change the moment a platform is cantilevered, and they change again with the overhang, the height and what the ground is like.
