Overview

About This Course

IPAF PAV training is a short operator course for push-around vertical lifts — lightweight platforms that are manually manoeuvred into position and then raised. Because they're pushed by hand rather than driven, they suit indoor tasks at modest heights — stock picking, maintenance, installation and cleaning.

What Does the IPAF PAV Course Cover?

Delegates learn to prepare, inspect and safely operate the machine, covering pre-use checks, safe positioning and set-up, hazard identification, safe elevation and lowering, and emergency descent. In addition, the course covers employer and operator responsibilities under the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and PUWER 1998, and it's delivered as theory plus hands-on practical operation.

Assessment and Your 5-Year IPAF PAL Card

Assessment is by a theory test and a practical assessment. Once you pass, you'll receive an IPAF Certificate of Training and the IPAF PAL (Powered Access Licence) Card, valid for 5 years and recognised worldwide.
