About This Course

With more than 20 years of training experience, Access Towers helps over 350 trainees each month gain work-at-height and safety qualifications across London and the South East. Our helpful bookings team make it easy to arrange your training — whether you're training yourself, your team, or someone else.

Work at Height Training is a half-day, classroom-based course that gives delegates the knowledge to work safely at height and to meet their duties under the Work at Height Regulations 2005. The course covers the definition of work at height and why it matters, the relevant legislation and the responsibilities it places on employers, the self-employed and those who control the work of others, and how to plan and risk-assess work at height. A central theme is the hierarchy of controls — avoiding work at height where possible, preventing falls where it can't be avoided, and minimising the consequences of a fall where the risk remains — along with selecting the right access equipment for the task, recognising hazards such as fragile surfaces and adverse weather, and emergency and rescue considerations.

The course combines clear theory with group exercises and is assessed through ongoing participation and a short knowledge check. On successful completion, delegates receive a certificate of completion; we recommend refresher training every three years to stay current. We deliver the course at our Croydon centre or on site at your premises across London and the South East, with group discounts available for teams.

No — it's a classroom-based knowledge course. For hands-on mobile tower training, take our PASMA courses; for fitting, inspecting and using a harness, take our Safety Harness course.

None. It suits complete beginners as well as those refreshing their knowledge, and it's a useful foundation before hands-on courses.

Half a day, assessed through group exercises and a short knowledge check. Up to 12 delegates per session.

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 require that anyone working at height is competent to do so, which includes adequate training. This course helps you and your employer demonstrate that competence and stay compliant.

A certificate of completion. There's no statutory expiry, but we recommend refresher training every three years to keep knowledge current.
