IPAF PAV training for push-around vertical lifts — manually positioned, then elevated. A short course leading to the IPAF PAL Card, valid 5 years — at our Croydon centre or on site across London and the South East.
IPAF PAV training is a short operator course for push-around vertical lifts — lightweight platforms that are manually manoeuvred into position and then raised. Because they're pushed by hand rather than driven, they suit indoor tasks at modest heights — stock picking, maintenance, installation and cleaning.
Delegates learn to prepare, inspect and safely operate the machine, covering pre-use checks, safe positioning and set-up, hazard identification, safe elevation and lowering, and emergency descent. In addition, the course covers employer and operator responsibilities under the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and PUWER 1998, and it's delivered as theory plus hands-on practical operation.
Assessment is by a theory test and a practical assessment. Once you pass, you'll receive an IPAF Certificate of Training and the IPAF PAL (Powered Access Licence) Card, valid for 5 years and recognised worldwide.
With more than 20 years of training experience, Access Towers helps over 350 trainees each month gain work-at-height qualifications across London and the South East. As an approved IPAF centre, our helpful bookings team make it easy to book — whether you're training yourself, your team, or someone else. Need self-propelled machines too? See IPAF 3a training for scissor lifts, browse all our IPAF training courses, or hire access equipment through our scaffold tower hire service with next-day delivery.
